STABLEKING HELP

Enclosed in these pages should be all you need to get through the first month of Stableking.  There are no tips or tricks on this page those you will have to work out yourself but iff there is something puzzling you or not making sense you will probably find the answer here.  Happy Hunting !

A QUICK SYNOPSIS

Here is what Larry Says

Play to win in this free online game.   Own a racing stable of horses and jockeys and race them against stables from around the world.   Races take place 24 hours a day.   Buy horses, train horses and breed them to produce winning thoroughbreds.

The Truth However Is

In essence this may be the greatest understatement of all time !  To say Stableking (SK to the masses) is addictive would be a close second.  To many of us it is close to a life style !  Some peeps Eat, Sleep and Breathe Stable King.  To some it is thier life's aim to win that Coveted Monthly!

Not your cup of tea ?  Run now whilst you can !  Because this game is full of twists, turns and dark alleys!  Ther are scammers, there are spammers, there are legends and losers and they are all there for you to meet and tangle with and oh yeah some people actually race horses too !

Good luck in your quest !

Well two things. As far as I am concerned, maybe you should warn players that I really do try and avoid getting involved in inter-player dispustes over ownership. And the best way of avoiding these disputes is to and keeping ownership of their own stables is make sure they create each stable with the same email address. If they keep changing email addresses then it gives me the impression a scam is afoot.

Also any new ideas have to be really thought through in terms of being helpful to all players and being technically realistic.

The relationship between a jockey and distance is a legacy from a previous calculation and I need to remove that misunderstanding. The success of a jockey is based solely on their relationship with the horse. Jockey A could ride Horse A with great success and Jockey B could ride Horse B with great success. But Jockey A and Horse B may be a failure and similarly Jockey B with Horse A could be a failure. The combinations of performances between jockeys and horses are almost limitless and within the game it is case of experimenting to find the best matching pair.

I need to add this into the help pages. But essentially two things.

1. Tracks in the same region as your stable will gain your horse a small bonus. The regions are North America, South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Indo-China, Japan/Korea and finally Oz/New Zealand.

2. The tracks are falt, uphill, downhill, left handed, right handed, tightly curved and widely curved. Each of your horses will either prefer each of these charcteristics or dislike them or be indifferent to them. Once again the horse gains a slight bonus if it prefers any of these factors relative to other horses. So horses that like tight left handed bends speed up on the tight left handed bend of a race track. If the next section of the track is uphill and they dislike uphill then they will slow down slightly. As usual the preference for any of these factors work in combination.

3, Just to add that swapping the location of your stable each time before entering a horse in different parts of the world does more harm than good.

GET TO KNOW THE PEEPS

This section will help you Identify certain players from the top

 1.  Larry - The Big Cheese.....he is the owner, developer, Judge, Jury and executioner

2. Moderators - They keep the boards clean....they cannot delete stables but they can lock you out if they block you enough

3. Veterans - They have been around forever and take delight in telling you how good they are....best avoid them at this point

4. Novices - Have been around a short time and aspire to be VEterans but do not yet have the horse power which is why some become

5. Scammers - This guy you have to be VERY WARY of   They will try and take your money and horses.  Best defence is this Check ALL OFFERS coming to your stable !  make sure they are the horses u actually bid on.  Again if you need to know more look at larry MB or ask a moderator.

6. Semi Retirees - These guys once played but got jack of it and now play other games but hang out on MB some are even moderators

7. newbies - This is you !  We were all new once best advice is to remember it is a game.  Spend your first month getting to know people and figuring out who belongs in which group above.  Then only deal with those you feel comfortable dealing with.

GET TO KNOW THE GAME

There are 3 Major Aspects of Stableking.  Racing (on the pink tab) Training (on the green Tab) and Breeding (also on the green Tab).  The following is a thumbnail sketch.

Your first horse will probably be a "Create" one you create yourself by going to

Your stable then

Horse Finance

Create Horse

you get 3 free my advice is create a 4th 2 colts and 2 fillies.

You will see something when you click on a horses name that looks like this

Example Horse

So what does all this mean

HORSE STATISTICS

The first really important one is Performance rating (PR) between 0-200 the higher the number the better the horse

Next it's record some races are limited by no of wins or no of races

next number of times bred.....big news if you plan to breed each horse is max of 10 breeds

Finally the speed ratings the block of numbers.  Here is a rough guide to what a create will be like

Surface (Adjustment)  at 1  at 24

HARD (+1)                11.0 to 12.0

FIRM (+0.5)              10.5 to 11.5

GOOD (+0)               10.0 to 11.0

SOFT (+2)                12.0 to 13.0

HEAVY (+3)               13.0 to 14.0

DIRT (+0.7)              10.7 to 11.7

you will also on TRAIN HORSE see another set of number these are the Trainer Sr's or Tsr or Tr Sr the best analogy i can draw is these numbers are the fractions of a second the lower the better so if you has a 10.7 furlong with a 10.2 Tr Sr it would be close to 10.70 where as a 13.0 may be a 10.79.

The adjustments I mention are to the good time so if your horse is 10.5 at a furlong on good you would expect

11.5 at the same furlong Hard

11.0 Firm

12.5 Soft

13.5 Heavy

11.2 Dirt

Idf the value you find is greated than this it is better on good if it is less it is better on that ground.  By doing this with tevery horse you will soon undersatnd what your trainer is telling you and will not need to ask him. Now be warned these horses are not going to be very good DO  NOT EXPECT to win lots with them.  However they do suffice for the start.  Now you have them what do you do.

WHAT TO DO WITH A HORSE

First Off

INVENTORY IT (Your Stable then horse history)

Go and ask your trainer and he will tell you what surface and what distance to race your horse at...until you have a little more experience use this.   Once you have this information check the appropriate boxes.  Please note the trainer will only give you 2 grounds so IF and only IF your horse has the exact same times on other grounds check it too.

Train Them (Your Stable then Train Horse)

Training only needs to be done once and it is good until u decide to change it.  Try some training on every furlong if you horse runs under 20F over 20 use only ground training.  DO NOT PUT a little on ground and a little on Furlongs it will mess your horse up.  Ok so now you have trained your horse what next ?

Find A Jockey (Your stable/jockey history)

do a search and find what jockey has won the most races at the distance you horse runs then go to allocate jockey, select pool jockeys and put him on.  Ok so your horse is trained and has a jockey what next?  New Info is

So get those Create jockeys out and see what you can do !

RACE IT ! (Races Then Enter Race)

Go and search for a race your horse qualifies for then hit enter race.  and you are in !  A word of advice here race your horse in or as close to its class as you can running a pr 23 horse in a 200 class race first up is suicidal.  If it is PR 32 then race it in 0-40 class.  So that's it right?  Not Quite

Race Instructions (Races than race instructions)

Here is where you tell your jockey what to do you get 100 points in 10 point blocks use them wisely,  and there you go your horse is ready to run.  Word of advice do not run your horse 3 times a day once will be just fine.

So your horse runs it can earn 3 different things when it races

1. Money always good but must finish in the top 3

2. Points only relevant in Nations Cup Races

3. BI (Breeding Indicator) points.  In a full field the top 8 get 1 point each it reduces as the field reduces these BI points are vital when it come time to BREED !

BREEDING

Ok you have waited 10 days and your 2 coltd are now Stallions and your two fillies are mares and u did well enough to earn 10 BI points.  You have asked your trainer and he said you have

11f soft filly

13 f hard colt

12 f soft colt

5f firm filly

u may want to try breeding the soft horses or you may want to hit

THE HORSE MARKET (other Stables Then horse market)

Here horses are put up for sale some cheap some not so cheap.  But it is a good place to find a potential breeding match for your horse which brings me to

THE TRACKS (Your Stable then world Map)

There are a total of 22 tracks 1 Defualt and 21 Virtual Tracks.  The following has been revealled about the virtual tracks

1. Tracks in the same region as your stable will gain your horse a small bonus. The regions are

North America (5)

Golden Arch, Blugrass Ridge, Horsehead Hill, Atlantic Arena, Twelve Oaks

South America (2)

Cavalo Do Sol, Mexico

Europe(6)

Castlepoint, Dullahan, Slough City, Parc De Triumphe, Italy, Germany

Middle East (1)

 Al Sahar

Africa (1)

 Vlakke Berg

Indo-China (2)

Lucky Valley, Red Dragon

Japan/Korea (1)

 Kachiuma

Australia/New Zealand (3)

Blackstump, Brumby Down, Tiki Springs

3. Just to add that swapping the location of your stable each time before entering a horse in different parts of the world does more harm than good.

So look for those close to hom races and pay attention to where your horses run best !

THE MESSAGE BOARD

So what do you do in that time between races?  Do some homework?  Maybe some laudry?  play some Footy?  Maybe ride a real horse?  HELL NO !  You hang out on the Message Board !

Most of MB can be summarised in a few groups

1. General chat - just the usual hi howya doin between peeps who know each other

2. Arguements - enough said

3. Sales - players trying to glog their off breeds for obscene amounts (proceed with caution and a full wallet)

4. 1-4-1 - This is a breeding request someone has a horse they have no match for and are trying to getr lightning in a bottle DO NOT OFFER YOUR CREATES it will be taken as offensive and while I am at it here are few other things that will

1. Begging - do not come on mb day 1 and say Hi I am new I need money and horses

2. Whining - yes we know you are 0-20 we all were at some point

3. Begging for tips - we had to work it out so will you

4. Multi threads- Do not ssay the same thing over and over...keep it in the one thread

Your best bet if you are new on Mb is to read alot get to know who is who and if you have specific questions ask it.

TACTICS

Ok so you have all this information so how do u make it all work.  Well first off make your dreates and keep an eye out for mb contests where u can win some money.  You can also make money by betting but it is a dicey game.  Now having assumed your create horses are pretty lousy what do you do next?

You wait for mb announcements like FREE HORSE or Horses on Market 1 HS these wkill be reasonable horses and significant upgrades for you at a price you can afford.  Make use of it.  From there is is breeding and racing and tinkering and eventually you will get there !

Another word of warning TEAMS are the richest scam source there is DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT go in with stars in your eyes after a few eeks and advertise on MB for a team (Hi Ty).  You are asking to be scammed.  Take your time and play solo until you bring something to the table and you know someone well enough that you can trust them with your horses.

PEOPLE CAN AND DO TRY TO SCAM YOU IN STABLEKING !  Make it as hard as possible for them

1.  ALWAYS check ALL OFFERS before you accept anything to your stable

2.  ONLY partner with people you know and trust

3.  DO NOT DEAL with known cheats and scammers

If you need more information on who these players are drop a note to the moderstors or look on the Larry Message board
you will need to do some digging but the information is there.  ONLY DEAL with people you know and trust

I borrowed this DIRECTLY from Christi (The Vol Division).  Here is how to protect yourself as clearly and plainly as it can be written.  Thanks Christi !

Horse transfers

As you may be aware, there are a lot of scams going around. But, the best way you can protect yourself is to be vigilent. Make sure you know who you are dealing with. But, most importantly, check your transfers first!

Here are a few questions you should ask yourself.
In t

he following pictures, I'm using examples from my own stables/hors
1)

Make sure the name of the horse corresponds with the horse you bidded on.

2)
Make sure it's the right stable.

3)
Make sure it's the correct amount that you bidded.

4)
Make sure the speed ratings page matchs with the horse that was described in the thread or whereever you discovered the horse.

By being mindful of these four easy steps, you can be smart about horse transfers and stay one step ahead of the cheats.

So there you have it folks the do's and don'ts of SK.............Enjoy the ride !
